"This agreement goes much further than simply creating project opportunities. For the great benefit surely must lie in what the UK might learn from the US and, similarly, what the US might learn from the UK through collaboration and integration, architectural innovation, an enhanced understanding of sustainable practice, and passive design."
-John McAslan, British architect and philanthropist
You are invited to join the British Consulate General, the Royal British Institute of Architects, and AIA Chicago for a networking reception commemorating the Mutual Recognition Agreement between the United States' National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the United Kingdom's Architects Registration Board
The MRA will enable the flow of architects and their ideas between these two countries which have such parallel but diverse modes of practice. This is increasingly important as we shift our profession to take the lead in response to a changing professional climate.
In addition to the MRA, we'll also be celebrating Chicago’s architects – RIBA and AIA members – as global infrastructure leaders and the exciting launch of a new issue of Chicago Architect magazine, which focuses on worldwide airports designed in Chicago.
Special guests
