In 2008, the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects| (WCCA) announced their intention to collaborate with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to create an annual travel award to a student or group of students enrolled in a Part 2 course validated by the RIBA in a School of Architecture in the Greater London area.
The award is named The RIBA Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects Travel Award and is made in memory of Stuart Murphy, the Chief Planning Officer of the City of London, and past Master of the WCCA.
The WCCA and the RIBA feel that an award of £2,000 would allow a talented student or team to travel outside the United Kingdom to conduct research on a topic of his/her/their choice that would contribute to the development of Architecture.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday 3 March 2009.
