The Royal Institute of British Architects Gulf Chapter (RIBA Gulf Chapter), with the support of RIBA and in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), launches the inaugural d3 Architecture Festival.

The Royal Institute of British Architects Gulf Chapter (RIBA Gulf Chapter), with the support of RIBA and in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), launches the inaugural d3 Architecture Festival. With over 30 shortlisted entries from all over the GCC, the exhibition will showcase architecture, urbanism and sustainable development.

Showcasing landmark regional architectural projects, the event will host a series of online talks and workshops to steer the Middle East towards a more sustainable future.

The inaugural edition of the d3 Architecture Festival is set to run from 11 to 13 November 2020 on the sidelines of Dubai Design Week, held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

The d3 Festival will also host a student workshop under the topic of high rise buildings and sustainability. The topic will challenge the preconception of skyscrapers as a static typology, looking into the hybrid sustainable high rise models. The workshop encourages participants to look into programmatic organisations and structural and cladding models, paying particular attention to the towers' economic and social aspects in relation to the proposed site: Dubai Design District's waterfront.
