Throughout October 2019 and alongside Black History Month, we ran a campaign to celebrate nine inspirational RIBA award-winning BAME architects.
Supported by the RIBA’s Architects for Change Expert Advisory Group, the digital campaign celebrated architects at different stages of their career trajectory - from emerging talent to internationally acclaimed practice leaders.
Their stories highlight the diverse professional pathways available for young people from BAME backgrounds who are looking to access, or progress in, the profession, and showcase BAME-led practices to clients.
Femi Oresanya, Principal at HOK and Architects for Change Interim Chair, said:
"The Architects for Change Expert Advisory Group is proud to support RIBA’s efforts in highlighting and celebrating its award-winning BAME members and practices. Increasing their visibility during Black History Month will hopefully inspire a new generation of young people from all backgrounds to consider architecture as a tangible profession."
