RIBA Awards Group 2024

The RIBA Awards Group ensure consistently high standards are applied across the UK regions and the rest of the world (in the case of the RIBA International Awards). Their role is to lay down policy, and develop and apply a set of judging criteria for the RIBA Awards. They will review and evaluate award submissions, in order to select winners of the RIBA Awards, against the RIBA Awards criteria.

The RIBA Awards Group has direct responsibility for judging the RIBA Awards in the UK and International:

  • RIBA UK Awards starts from the point of the conclusion of the RIBA Regional Awards, which the RIBA Awards Group will moderate, to the assessment of projects eligible for National Awards and also for the selection of the RIBA Stirling shortlist, in collaboration with at least one member of the RIBA Stirling Prize jury.
  • RIBA International Awards starts with reviewing all entries and select projects for visit by RIBA Local Ambassadors. The RIBA Awards Group, with the assistance of RIBA Local Ambassadors, will select the projects eligible for the RIBA International Awards for Excellence and winner of the RIBA International Emerging Architect, as well as the selection of the RIBA International Prize shortlist.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has selected Simon Henley, Principal of Henley Halebrown, as the RIBA Awards Group Chair for 2024.
