The Institute in the Park was completed in summer 2018 by the winners of the competition Hopkins Architects. The building is located on the site of the old hospital, adjacent to the new Children’s Hospital. The building contains research and teaching laboratories, offices, meeting rooms, lecture theatres a café and a library.

The other shortlisted teams were Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, NBBJ, Penoyre & Prasad and Ryder Architecture.
