McChesney Architects and Atelier One’s wind shelter design rotates according to the prevailing wind direction to shield the occupants from the elements.
The shape was born out of a distillation of the key required elements: a vane, to turn the structure, and a baffle to shelter the inhabitant from the wind.
The first shelter was completed in spring 2006 with a second added a few months later.
