Begin at the beginning.
Not many would have predicted the past 18 months and the challenges everyone has faced on both a professional and personal level.
As we near the autumn and start to get back to some sort of normality, I will begin my term as your RSAW President.
My focus has always been the future of architects in a sustainable Wales, but I am especially eager to hear what really matters to you.
I believe architects need to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable environment, that promotes health and wellbeing, that drives home the zero carbon / beyond zero carbon agenda.
There are going to be challenging times ahead, but I believe we have a chance to make the most of the opportunities that arise and harness the skills that architects possess.
It is truly an honour to represent all architects across Wales and I am looking forward to working with our RSAW Team to ensure architects continue to have a voice that is listened to, respected and valued.
Finally, as a personal note I would like to thank outgoing President Ryan Stuckey for his help and guidance over the past year whilst President Elect. Many thanks Ryan.
Gavin Traylor
RSAW President
