To celebrate International Women's Day 2020 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), we're featuring stories of initiatives practices have implemented to address the issues underlying gender inequality.

Join us at our #EachforEqual event to celebrate International Women's Day and discuss how we can all work together to create a brighter future for everyone in our industry. This event is hosted by incoming Women in Property (WIP) incoming Chair, Rachael Sherratt and RIBA member.

West Midlands
Celebrating Women in Architecture, JQ Design Destination, Birmingham, Wednesday 4 March (6pm until late)
Join the Birmingham Architectural Association and RIBA as we explore the success, glass ceilings and ultimate achievements of a selection of RIBA West Midlands Women in Architecture throughout the generations.
East Midlands
International Women’s Day Celebration: Ways of Working, New Art Exchange, Nottingham, Thursday 5 March (2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 9pm)
Join us for this inspirational celebration of International Women's Day with afternoon workshops and evening presentations and discussion on the theme 'Ways of Working'. There will be a break between 5pm and 6pm which will include a drinks reception and complimentary buffet.

RIBA North East
On 8 March, RIBA North East will be launching a social media campaign to raise awareness of ‘who we are and what we stand for', featuring some of the Change the Record advocates, exploring why they’re an advocate and celebrate their achievements. The campaign will also act as a vehicle to invite the next cohort.
RIBA Yorkshire
On 8 March, RIBA Yorkshire will launch a social media collage featuring inspirational female members and their achievements.
RIBA East
"I built that!": A celebration of women in construction and real estate, Magdalene College, Cripps Court Auditorium, Cambridge,Wednesday 18 March, 5.30pm to 6.45pm
Join Cambridge University as they explore the history of women who have helped to design and build the Cambridge of today, followed by five women, including an architect, developer, engineer, planner and plumber, giving short talks about their favourite construction or real estate project.
The event will conclude with a networking and poster session until 7.30pm, displaying images of women, voted for by you, as inspirational in construction and real estate. Continuing with the theme, this end to the event is to emphasise and celebrate the diversity of women who have built our surrounding environment.
