The winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2024 - awarded to the UK's best architecture - will be announced on 16 October. Meet the jury who will visit each of the six buildings on the shortlist and decide which will be crowned the winner.
The RIBA Stirling Prize jury changes each year and this year’s jury is made up of a range of leading experts who will visit each of the six shortlisted buildings.
This year, Muyiwa Oki, RIBA President, chairs the panel and will be joined by:

Muyiwa Oki
Muyiwa Oki is President of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and a senior Architect at Mace. Throughout his career, he has worked on large-scale infrastructure projects, such as HS2 Euston and the North London heat and power project.
Whilst at Grimshaw Architects, he was founder and chair of the Multi-Ethnic Group and Allies network and drove cultural change for colleagues globally.
Alex Ely
Alex Ely is Founder Director of Mæ, the winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2023. Alex has established an international reputation for sustainable architecture and urbanism and specifically for the design of innovative housing and social infrastructure. Alex also advises government and the Mayor of London on urban and planning policy promoting an agenda of design excellence. He has taught at a number of UK Schools of Architecture, written several books, and exhibited internationally.
Mary Duggan
Prior to establishing Mary Duggan Architects, Mary Duggan was a founding director of Duggan Morris Architects where she co-led the practice from 2004-2017. During her tenure Duggan Morris Architects received numerous industry awards for design excellence.
Mary is currently a member of several Design Review Panels including the London Borough of Waltham Forest and the London Borough of Camden. She has also served on many other design panels and juries including the London Borough of Lewisham, the RIBA Education Committee, RIBA International, National and Regional Awards Panels, the London Festival of Architecture, the Stephen Lawrence Prize, and the Manser Medal.
David Light
David Light is the Director for AEC Consulting in Autodesk's EMEA Enterprise Customer Success team. jobrings over three decades of architectural and construction industry technology experience to his role. He leads a dynamic team of implementation and business consultants, dedicated to addressing the digital transition needs of clients.
Before joining Autodesk, David served as the Director of Implementation at CASE Inc, a New York-based BIM consulting enterprise. And prior to that was BIM Manager at HOK London, where he spearheaded the support and development of Revit and BIM technologies.
Minna Sunikka-Blank
Minna Sunikka-Blank is Professor of Architecture and Environmental Policy at Cambridge University. She is a Director of Studies and Fellow in Architecture at Churchill College, Cambridge, an elected member of the Research and Education Committee of the Association of Finnish Architects (SAFA).
Her projects focus on housing and social equity from a policy perspective, addressing the global crisis of affordable and sustainable housing in the context of rapid urbanisation and the climate emergency. In recent work in Eastern Africa, India, and the UK, she uses participatory methods and filmmaking to understand domestic energy transitions and the adoption of solar technologies in marginalised communities.
Lay Assessor: Yana Peel
Yana Peel is the Global Head of Arts & Culture at CHANEL, committed to nurturing the conditions in which creativity can thrive by supporting artists, institutions and the exchange of cultural knowledge. Previously, Peel was CEO of The Serpentine Galleries in London, where she co-commissioned site-specific works by architects Francis Kere, Frida Escobedo and Junya Ishigami for the annual Pavilion programme.
She is currently a board member of Sadler’s Wells in London, Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and member of the NSPCC Online Safety Taskforce. In addition, she serves on the international councils of TATE, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and American Ballet Theatre.
RIBA Stirling Prize 2024
The winner will be announced on 16 October at the RIBA Stirling Prize 2024 ceremony in London at The Roundhouse.
During the ceremony, the winners of the Stephen Lawrence Prize, Neave Brown Award for Housing, RIBA Client of the Year, and RIBA Reinvention Award will also be announced.
