The group represents over 1500 members and marks our fifth international chapter, alongside China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Gulf, alongside our two independent volunteer groups in Sri Lanka and USA.
RIBA International Chapters are member-led groups that support, deliver, and champion the work of RIBA on the ground as part of RIBA's global community of architects. The Europe Chapter will serve members across the continent to foster collaboration, encourage the exchange of ideas and work, promote the value of architecture, and champion inclusivity and diversity in the profession.
A call for nominations to the RIBA Europe Chapter committee will be announced soon, with opportunities to apply for the following roles: Chair, Vice Chair, Honorary Treasurer, and Honorary Secretary. The chapter will also co-opt RIBA Members as dedicated country leads across the region.
Visit the RIBA Europe Region webpage for more information about the Chapter and its upcoming 2025 programme.

As a global professional membership body with over 54,000 members in 115 countries, we recognise the importance of creating support networks and opportunities for knowledge sharing. Now, more than ever, global connections and collaborations are vital. We look forward to drawing on and sharing the expertise of our new network in Europe, while working closely with our fellow professional institutes across the region.”

‘The RIBA Europe Chapter will be delivering an exciting and diverse programme of events and initiatives to engage and support the local architecture community. Through building visits, talks, learning programmes and exhibitions, RIBA will champion design excellence and highlight the positive contribution that architects make to society across Europe.
By working together and drawing on the collective knowledge and expertise of each other, we can drive meaningful progress in the profession. Members participation will be key to the Chapter’s growth and success.”
RIBA Councillor for Europe, Waldemar Koehler said:
“The RIBA Europe Chapter will be focusing on key themes such as housing standards, sustainability and biodiversity, education, inclusion, diversity and equity. We will be engaging and foster partnership with educational and cultural institutions, museums, philanthropic organisations, private sector, and United Nations entities. With a team comprising members from various European countries and a diverse range of knowledge skills and expertise, RIBA Europe will be addressing pressing global challenges and realise the ambitious goals and objectives outlined in our manifesto. Through strengthening and fortifying connections with European countries we will be supporting our members and fostering the growth of a cohesive and unified architectural profession.”
