After careful consideration, the RIBA are pleased to announce that the 2019 Boyd Auger Scholarship has been awarded to Aida Rodriguez-Vega for her project ‘The Village People Go West: An architectural analysis for the reuse, restoration and adaptability of abandoned villages within depopulated areas of Western Europe for the promotion of rural retiree communities.’
Awarded annually, the RIBA Boyd Auger Scholarship offers £6,000 to an architecture student or recent graduate for the completion of an international research project lasting between 6 and 12 months. The scholarship can also support graduates for a period of international work experience and travel.
The RIBA Boyd Auger Scholarship applications were assessed by the following members of the RIBA Education Development Group: Chloe Anderson, Holland Harvey Architects; Valeria Carullo, RIBA British Architectural Library; Victoria Simpson, DLG Architects.
