RIBA encouraged by New Zealand trade deal

Our reaction to the UK and New Zealand’s historic trade deal agreement.

21 October 2021

The Royal Institute of British Architects has reacted to the UK and New Zealand’s historic trade deal agreement.

RIBA Chief Executive, Alan Vallance, said:

“I am encouraged by this trade deal, which demonstrates clear Government commitment to supporting UK architects and practices to work internationally.

Our discussions with Ministers and MPs over recent years pushing for new visas and mutual recognition of professional qualification agreements have – and continue to be – valuable and successful.

We look forward to working with policymakers to ensure the next stage of negotiations optimise trade opportunities and support the profession.”
