Over 160 online attendees from around the world tuned in to learn how the design of the National Museum of Qatar's gift shops echoes Koichi Takada’s vision of bringing nature back into architecture by establishing relationships that connect people to their natural surroundings.
The event was arranged by the RIBA Gulf Chapter and hosted by Jasbir Singh Bhamra, RIBA Gulf Chapter Committee Representative, Qatar.

Koichi Takada belongs to a new generation of architects that strive to bring nature back into the urban environment — an approach he has mastered after living in cities of high urbanisation such as Tokyo, New York, and London.

Working closely with a team of over 50 passionate and highly skilled architects, Koichi's emphasis is on creating a connection to nature by humanising and naturalising the urban environment. Each project embodies his commitment to organic form and consideration for the human experience in the natural environment. Through a series of award-winning designs, Koichi's growing practice is gaining an international reputation and is about to change the skylines of Sydney, Brisbane, Tokyo, China, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
The intensity of the design and craftsmanship of the NMOQ's gift shops pay homage to Jean Nouvel's desert rose-inspired architecture and celebrates the natural Qatari heritage of the desert landscape.
