On 25 February 2021, RIBA Gulf hosted its second instalment of the RIBA Gulf live lunch talks, with Mouaz Abouzaid, livestreamed from Dubai, UAE.
This digital event aims to highlight voices from across the Gulf to delve deeper into their projects and showcase various views within the region.
This exclusive lecture by Mouaz Abouaid, the founder and design principal of Dubai's Verform design studio, discussed this urban regeneration project and one-kilometre greenway of new public spaces and green areas to give urban space back to the people of Dubai.
Taking into account how the car in Dubai has long been prioritised over other modes of transportation, X-Space further encourages the human experience by allowing walking amongst nature not often found in the urban city. X-Space aims to provide connectivity to one of the world’s great metropolises. This public recreational, cultural, and communal space links the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, with the new Museum of the Future. At the epicenter of urban life and architecture, it runs above Dubai’s major thoroughfare, Sheikh Zayed Road, converging into a tunnel underneath the urban greenway.
On 25 March 2021, the RIBA will host the third instalment of RIBA Gulf live lunch talks: Creative marketing for architects with Tala Alnonou.
