This November, the RIBA will be at Design China Beijing, bringing some of the most exciting names in architecture and design to the city at a series of events.
On 24 September, we’re inviting architects and design professionals to join us for an ambitious one-day Design Sprint, ‘City Sanctuary Beijing’, to produce creative solutions for a new mixed-use, community-led, green urban space. The RIBA Live 4x4 events programme continues with the next Pecha Kucha session on 25 September. This event is delivered in partnership with the Department of International Trade, China British Business Council, Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute and China Architectural Design Institute.
Eight leading figures of Chinese Architecture including: Li Xinggang, Director of the China Urban Planning Society and Chairman of the historical village committee of the China Council of monuments and sites; Zhang Jie, Chief Architect of China Architecture Design & Research Group, President of Atelier Li Xinggang and visiting professor of Tianjin University and Southeast University and Zhu Pei, Dean, School of architecture, Central Academy of Fine Arts, to name just a few, will discuss ‘Social Context and cultural heritage of Chinese contemporary architecture’.
