RIBA South West has announced its autumn series of RIBA Annual Lectures at universities running RIBA validated courses across the South West and Wessex regions. Seeking to inspire the next generation of architects through hearing the stories behind award-winning and innovative architecture, the lectures also mix up students and practicing RIBA architects to stimulate new student-professional connections.
The 2017 series kicks off with former Mayor of Bristol and RIBA President George Ferguson CBE at Plymouth University on 28 September (5pm). Winner of the RIBA South West Building of the Year 2017 for the New Music Facilities at Wells Cathedral School, Eric Parry talks at Bath University on 10 October (5.30pm).
Architect for the RIBA National Award 2017 winning Dyson Campus Expansion at Malmesbury, Yasmin Al-Ani-Spence from WilkinsonEyre will talk at UWE Bristol on 19 October, To conclude the series, double RIBA South West Award 2017 winning architect of Studio and Cob Corner, David Sheppard from Devon will talk at Arts University Bournemouth on 24 November.
