The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is excited to announce that its second annual Inclusion Festival from 18-26 November 2021 will take the form of a dedicated radio station, broadcasting live from the bookshop at RIBA’s HQ in London.

RIBA Radio will be hosted by Marsha Ramroop, former BBC journalist and the RIBA’s Director of Inclusion & Diversity.

Broadcasting live from 9am-1pm for seven days – and available on catch-up - content will include a mixture of music, live and pre-recorded interviews, discussions, and debates - featuring special guests from across the worlds of architecture, design, arts, culture, and sport, as well as key leaders from the worlds of EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion).

Guests will include Baroness Doreen Lawrence; Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees; health and wellbeing coach Mr Motivator; Head of School and CEO of London School of Architecture Dr Neal Shasore; architects Adam Furman, Chris Hildrey, Farshid Moussavi, Clare Nash and Sumita Singha OBE; science journalist Angela Saini; architectural historian Josh Mardell; and founder of the CQ (Cultural Intelligence) programme Dr David Livermore.

RIBA Director of Inclusion & Diversity, Marsha Ramroop said:

“Last November the RIBA launched the Inclusion Charter, inviting members and practices to commit to actions to drive forward inclusion and diversity within the profession. This year, we're using RIBA Radio as the platform to support that commitment with information, guidance, best practice and insight, through 28 hours of live radio.

I am excited to combine my two areas of expertise – broadcast journalism and EDI, to bring RIBA Radio to life and broaden the reach of these important conversations.

In my role as host, I’ll also be listening closely, learning and reflecting so that we can continue to develop the targeted actions necessary to drive forward inclusion and diversity within the sector.”
