Two recipients will be welcomed as Honorary Members of RSAW in August 2019.
Richard Suggett, Historic Buildings Advisor at the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales and Helgard Krause, Chief Executive of the Welsh Books Council, will be presented with their certificates by RSAW President Carolyn Merrifield at a celebratory lunch at Nanteos Mansion, near Aberystwyth.
In each RSAW Presidency, Honorary Membership is awarded to individuals who have played a significant role in a field related to architecture.
Richard Suggett is the author of many books about Welsh architecture, including 'Cyflwyno Cartrefi Cefn Gwlad Cymru: Introducing Houses of the Welsh Countryside' with Greg Stevenson (RCAHMW/Y Lolfa, 2010; 3rd impression, 2012).
Helgard Krause, formerly Director of The University of Wales Press, was the driving force behind the new edition of John B Hilling’s classic 1976 'The Historic Architecture of Wales', the second book in the UWP-RSAW series, bringing RSAW’s name and the story of architecture in Wales to new audiences.
