RSAW has announced the programme for the 2019 Festival of Architecture, launching with a major symposium on Saturday 16 March on Progressive Landscapes at National Trust Dinefwr Park in Carmarthenshire. Part of the National Trust’s public programme, People’s Landscapes, the forum invites architects, artists, planners, writers and environmentalists to reflect on how our land, community and identity have been shaped by power and privilege, with a focus on making the heritage landscape more relevant and engaging for all.
The Festival theme of Discovering the unexpected aims to celebrate all that is interesting and unexpected about buildings that could be right on the doorstep. Venturing beyond its hub at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre, the 2019 Festival reaches out to a wide audience through 25 events in 15 venues of architectural interest across Wales from mid March to end June. With films, talks and exhibitions, plus a return of the popular ‘Be an Architect for the Day’ workshop, we hope there will be something for everyone to discover.
