The Weston, Yorkshire Sculpture Park by Feilden Fowles Architects has been shortlisted alongside five other buildings for the most prestigious prize in UK architecture, the RIBA Stirling Prize.
The winner of the RIBA Yorkshire Building of the Year Award sits within the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield and was described by the regional jury as: “A superbly detailed and exemplary building that doesn't shout too loudly; it’s both sensitive to its context and purpose, whilst also being a sustainable building that just quietly gets on with it. It is a building that many people will take to their heart; it has great warmth and will become a favourite destination to meet, to hold family occasions or events as well as being a gateway to the world-class Yorkshire Sculpture Park.”
Congratulations to The Weston, Yorkshire Sculpture Park for being a Stirling Prize finalist for 2019.
