On 23 July 2020, The RIBA Gulf and Geberit hosted another online seminar in its seminar series for members, non-members, and students in the Gulf. The module provided delegates with an expert level learning opportunity on the principles of acoustic design for acoustically-optimised buildings. The seminar enabled professionals to achieve better outcomes.

Following the RIBA Cityscape Intelligence Sketchbook – Culturally Significant Vernacular Architecture in the Gulf competition, the RIBA with Cityscape Intelligence hosted a live sketching event with the competition’s winner. This included a Q&A session and a recreation of their winning sketch for the audience to view.

The RIBA Gulf Chapter hosted a free online event on June 3 to help answer students' questions on entering and working in practice. This included what companies look for in a graduate, what they look for in a CV, and what can a fresh recruit expect to do in their working week. Recent hires into the industry also presented during the event.

On 14 May 2020, RIBA Gulf and Geberit hosted an online seminar for members, non-members and students in the Gulf. The module provided delegates with an expert level learning opportunity and insight on hydraulic principles of in house drainage systems.

RIBA International are on the lookout for members in practice and architecture schools with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This could include working with Big Data to create intuitive environments, planning Smart Cities and the use of smart materials, a Parametrics Design approach or advanced visualisation skills in both projects and research.

On 15 December 2019, RIBA announced the opening of its new office in Sharjah - the first outside of the UK. With over forty high-profile architects, government officers, architectural stakeholders and press in attendance, the event marked a key milestone for RIBA, its partners and members.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Dubai Land Department (DLD) have signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Cityscape Global in Dubai, the Middle East’s largest real estate exhibition (25 – 27 September).
