RIBA South Conservation Group

Did you know that the RIBA South Conservation Group covers all regions in the South of England and is open to all RIBA members from the South East, South, and South West?

Our talks cover a wide range of conservation related topics including a close look at some amazing projects (like the conservation at The Liberty Department Store or the Tower of London), methods for treating damp, mould, and timber decay, and how to deal with bats and the UK legislation that protects them.

Join us for our monthly lunchtime talks, which are held online via MSTeams.

These talks are completely free and can even count towards your informal CPD hours. We believe in keeping these events interactive, so we don't record them. Instead, our speakers present their topics for 40 to 45 minutes, followed by a Q&A session for our attendees to engage with.

We believe in inclusivity and want everyone to feel welcome in our community. Our events are open to RIBA members, students, non-members in the built environment, and anyone interested in the subject matter. By providing an open forum to a wider audience, we hope to increase understanding of the importance and complexity of conservation in architecture.

In addition to our online events, we aim to have at least three in person events each year, one in each of our three regions: South East, South, and South West. These events will require tickets with a small cost and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can find all our events on the What's On page, be sure to bookmark the page to stay updated on upcoming events and when we might be visiting a site near you.
