Join architects from nimtim on this morning tour to hear about their competition-winning designs to embed new green infrastructure across the Becontree Estate.
After outlining a number of neglected corner plots at junctions across the estate, nimtim have been working with resident groups and schools to develop designs that will encourage informal play and informal gathering. Another key priority is to landscape these pockets of public space with plants and shrubs that are compatible with the former ecology of the site.
The tour will start at Valence House with a presentation by the architects on their initial research and the community engagement process through workshops and model making. We will then walk over with nimtim to visit two of the sites being developed.
