Special guests Tom Waddicor (Maccreanor Lavington) and Angus Morrogh-Ryan (De Matos Ryan) join us for this lunchtime talk – part of a series celebrating RIBA award-winning buildings.
Hosted by Dav Bansal (Glenn Howells Architects), the panel will be sharing the story behind Ibstock Place School Refectory and The Alice Hawthorn - followed by a live interactive Q&A session.
Ibstock Place School Refectory by Maccreanor Lavington - The brief was to replace existing piecemeal facilities into a single purpose-built building, whilst maintaining an ancient orchard. What has been created by Maccreanor Lavington is a grand, carefully crafted refectory, that has become the heart of the campus, winning a 2022 RIBA London Award and a National Award.
The Alice Hawthorn by De Matos Ryan - With the client making a significant financial investment and working closely with the practice, they have repaired and refurbished the existing Grade || listed building, transforming the pub into a vital community asset. The project won a 2022 RIBA Yorkshire Award, Yorkshire Client of the Year Award, Yorkshire Sustainability Award and a National Award.
