This event is now fully booked.
There is no correct or single way to keep a sketchbook. You decide what will be in yours. See the sketchbooks of architects and artists, sourced from the RIBA’s world-class architectural collections, as examples to provide inspiration on how and why you should keep a sketchbook. No previous artistic experience required.
This group workshop introduces you to the theme in our free downloadable resource ‘How to keep a sketchbook’. Before attending the workshop, you’re encouraged to look at the resource so that you can make the most of the workshop. This event is led by artist Wilson Yau and in a group online you’ll be introduced to pieces from the RIBA’s collections to help inspire the creative tasks.
The workshop will take place online via Microsoft Teams. A link will be sent to participants with confirmed bookings. This event is suitable for those aged 18 years or older.
Participants will need to provide their own materials:
- Sketchbook or A4 plain paper
- Pencils
- Eraser
- Pencil sharpener
- Black pen
You can use a shop-bought sketchbook or create your own - we’ll briefly cover making your own sketchbooks.
