RIBA's home at 66 Portland Place is closing for a redesign. So, now's your chance to get involved and design a wild and fun version of what the building could look like when it reopens. As a building that is not only the home of architecture, but also an interactive fun house for visitors to play and engage with.
Perhaps you imagine the building as a colossal game of snakes and ladders? Or a giant marble run with slides and slopes to take you to all the different floors and rooms? Or maybe a design that is also a completely new game that you’ve created yourself?
In this creative architecture workshop, we will design and create a 3D model of a redesigned 66 Portland Place that is also an interactive game; transforming an architectural space into a play space. You will learn about building design, 3D modelling techniques, and mixing play with design to create something completely unique and fun.
This creative architecture workshop for children aged 7 to 10 will be run by artist educator Katie Kennedy.

About the workshop series
For ages 7 to 10, our Design Quest workshops inspire younger children to use their imagination and hands-on creativity for a fun introduction to architecture. Previous workshops have seen participants create optical illusions, design sustainable dens, build stage sets, develop an animated story around a public space or assemble a house for a mouse.
