Design Shanghai, RIBA, and Dezeen are delighted to invite you to Visions of China - an evening of exploration and explanation of what’s happening with design and architecture in China, as practices and consultancies from all over the world are contributing to its astonishing energy.
The event will start with a welcome from Design Shanghai, and an introduction to how it became one of the world’s most important design exhibitions in less than half a generation. There are now annual events taking place under the Design Shanghai umbrella in both Beijing and Shenzhen.
Azlina Bulmer, RIBA’s Director of International, will present an overview of their exciting RIBA China Architect 100 programme that recently launched its digital guide, followed by Dezeen’s Chief Content Officer, Ben Hobson, discussing Dezeen in China.
Design Shanghai’s Forum director Aidan Walker, will moderate a discussion with Azlina Bulmer (RIBA) and Tom Ravenscroft (Editor, Dezeen) on Buildings with Plants and Trees – Healthy, Happy, Sustainable? A discussion around the not-so-new phenomenon of vertical forests, farmscrapers, garden buildings, and gardens in buildings.
