In this architectural workshop you'll draw, model, and build a community within a dynamic landscape filled with challenges and surprises. Explore innovative design solutions, collaborate with fellow participants, and bring your ideas to life through hands-on creativity. Whether you're an aspiring architect or a creative thinker, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and vision.
You will be given the task of becoming an architect for the day, working in a team and individually to develop creative ideas as the intriguing brief is revealed.
We will combine our collective interests to create a mega-client and remix the brief to design a dynamic cityscape on a terrain of tribulations. Discover how architects can be responsive and adaptable through the experience of being one on this fast-paced project day. Expect to learn drawing and modelling techniques, team work and go away with a piece of the city you have created together.
This workshop will be run by Alexander Frehse and Aleksandar Stojakovic of Studio 8FOLD, and is for young people aged 11 to 14 years.
About Studio 8FOLD
Studio 8FOLD is an innovative design, strategy and research-led architecture studio based in London. We see architecture as a powerful nexus to fuse social and environmentally conscious projects with capital-driven projects, spatialising an outcome that leverages the best attributes of each. We are looking out for organisations that aim to create a cultural shift for a more sustainable world.
About the workshop series
Our Design Time workshops take architectural design a step further by providing context and knowledge of the built environment to spark creativity. Past workshops have focused on different architectural styles, small and large-scale construction methods, traditional and digital drawing techniques, architectural games and collaborative design.
