Exploring Architecture: Drawing tour of 66 Portland Place, London

Join us for a drawing tour of 66 Portland Place, London, the 1930's home of the Royal Institute of British Architects. For over 55's.

Join us for a drawing tour of 66 Portland Place, the 1930's home of the Royal Institute of British Architects. We will learn about the history of the building while experimenting with different drawing techniques as we explore.

Different drawing techniques - like shading and perspective - help us illuminate details, textures, and dimensions, and foster a holistic understanding of the building. Each technique offers unique insights into the details we sketch and, together, these techniques enrich perception and learning.

This event is for anyone aged 55 or over that has an interest in discovering more about architecture, with a chance for discussion and refreshments in the Clore Learning Centre after the tour.

Free, please book a place.

Exploring Architecture is a monthly free event at 66 Portland Place, usually on the first of the month based in the Clore Learning Centre. Each month will take a different format, including tours, creative activities and special insights into the RIBA Collections with an opportunity to socialise.
