This special event at the Wilson Art Gallery - a cultural venue named after Dr Edward Wilson, a Cheltonian polar explorer - has been organised to coincide with the anniversary of Dr Wilson's death on the 29 March 1912.
Here, we will welcome the most internationally-acclaimed architect working in Antarctica, to further strengthen the town's unique link to the seventh continent.
Hugh Broughton Architects are one of the established talents of contemporary British architecture, with a portfolio of high quality, elegant designs spanning the cultural, science and business sectors.
Hugh will discuss his practices' projects in Antarctica, including the British Antarctica Society Halley VI Research Station, and his current work with the New Zealand government on the Scott Base Redevelopment. He will also discuss a brief overview of Antarctica's architectural history.
Alongside presenting his practices' work, Hugh will also be presenting their rich cultural portfolio, including the RIBA Award winning Painted Hall at Greenwich, Henry Moore Studios and the Portland Collection.
Tickets are limited for this event, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
