Join Leeds Society of Architects, along with Leeds Beckett University on a visit to their recently opened state-of-the-art creative hub, Leeds School of Arts.
Find out more about the design, construction and life of the building from award winning project architects Hawkins\Brown, who will be guiding the tour, providing a deeper insight into the building’s story and celebrating the thoughtfully curated spaces within.
‘The building unites more than 2,500 students and staff from the departments of film, music, performing arts and creative technologies on a compact city-centre site.
Along with the technical and performance spaces, the building has a variety of incidental ‘in between’ places where students can get together to practice or exhibit, creating opportunities for accidental performances to happen; giving students the freedom to grow their art in a space that invites imaginative thinking. – Hawkins\Brown.
The evening will consist of a short film presentation by the project architects in the top of the range, industry standard cinema space. Followed by a tour of all the interesting spaces held within the building, culminating with a drinks reception and access to the school’s roof top terrace, which promises to deliver breath-taking views of the city in the summer evening light.
