The Barbados Institute of Architects (BIA), in partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), is excited to present an insightful seminar titled: Leveraging transferable skills to address the housing crisis.

The event will examine housing as a critical and shared challenge, drawing on the UK's experiences to inform the efforts in Barbados. Through this collaboration, the BIA aims to explore valuable lessons from the UK's housing sector, with a focus on how architecture and design can play a transformative role in addressing the crisis.

RIBA President Muyiwa Oki, will will delve into the following key topics:

  • An overview of the current housing landscape in the UK and frameworks for affordable housing solutions.
  • RIBA's position on the housing crisis.
  • Key insights from the RIBA’s report, "Housing Matters: Twenty Ways to Solve the Housing Crisis."

The session will conclude with a dynamic panel discussion between RIBA President Muyiwa Oki and BIA President Kevin Browne, providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and collaborative strategies.
