RIBA Design Time: social city (in-person workshop)

Join us for this creative architecture workshop for your chance to take stock, have your say and create a plan of action for the future through design and model making. For ages 11 to 14 years.

How would you design a village, town or city? What would it stand for, what would it need and what would it look like? What things about where you live now would you change, improve or keep the same?

Join us for this creative architecture workshop for your chance to take stock, have your say and create a plan of action for the future through design and model making. We will express our views by creating a sketchbook zine in the morning and go on to embed our manifesto and ideas in a modular inspired 3D model of our new social city.

We will explore graphic design and publishing design layout techniques when creating our zine in the morning, working together to visually communicate our ideas. In the afternoon we will translate our 2D vision into a 3D model, using a variety of building materials whilst learning quick and easy model making techniques.

This creative architecture workshop for children aged 11 to 14 will be run by artist educator Katie Kennedy.

Katie Kennedy is a graphic designer and educator running her own design business alongside delivering architecture, art, printing and design workshops and projects at museums, galleries, festivals and schools around the country.
