RIBA Future Architects Yorkshire Symposium

This is a fantastic opportunity for RIBA student members to learn more about sketching skills, recruitment tips and practical advice via discussions, presentations and workshops.

We would like to invite students of architecture within the region to take part in Future Architects Yorkshire Symposium; a day of discussions, presentations and workshops aimed at final year undergraduates, but welcome any RIBA student member. With keynote speakers and panel discussion it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn more about sketching skills, recruitment tips and practical advice about your role as an Architect in Practice.

Schedule for the Day:

10.00am Welcome & Q&A Panel Discussion: Small, Medium and Large practices discuss what they look for in job candidates, and differences between practice sizes.

11.00am Workshops

• Sketching presentation and workshop - Neil Turner & Jonathan Yates • Getting to Interview & Demystifying the Recruitment Process – RIBA Jobs

12.30pm Lunch break

1.00pm Mini mentoring - presentations followed by interactive breakout rooms

• Live Site Learning – delivered by Michelle Martin, Director of Live Site Project • CV/Portfolio Review – delivered by Craig Stott, Co-Director of Project Office

3.00pm Sketching prize winners announced and keynote presentation by innovative local practice Arkle Boyce discussing regional projects and their journey to becoming architects.
