Future Leaders is a three-part programme, consisting of two in-person conference events and a separate on-demand CPD course from industry experts which is curated and recorded, especially for Future Leaders 2024.
The face-to-face conference will reinforce the key themes of the on-demand content and bring it to life in interactive sessions with live business actors, exercises, polls, and input from industry experts and thought leaders, hosted and led by Debra Stevens, Leadership Coach.

Course introduction and networking morning
The Future Leaders 2024 opening event will take place in the Florence Hall at RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London on Tuesday 30th April.

She is the author of Stand Out. She joins us Tuesday 30th April to help delegates explore their own leadership goals and intentions for the course.
On-Demand CPD modules
Our on-demand CPD modules will be split into three themes:
1. learning to lead
2. leading teams
3. leading business
Each theme includes three hours of CPD learning delivered by experienced leaders in architecture and introduced by our Future Leaders leadership coach, Debra Stevens.
In addition, delegates will hear from Tracy Forsyth, our expert keynote speaker who will interrogate each topic area and discuss self-leadership as a foundation to authentic, inclusive leadership, going from ‘me to we’ and how to lead in a world that is increasingly BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-Linear, and Incomprehensible).
Learning to lead
Our first module introduces delegates to the principles of leadership, developing the leadership mindset and creating a culture to promote collaboration, enthusiasm, and creativity.
Delegates will hear from Anna Parker from Intervention Architecture, Betty Owoo from Be First, along with Selasi Setufe MBE, and Gurmeet Sian from Office Sian.
Leading teams
Leading teams encourages delegates to start thinking beyond their own experiences of leadership, and to consider their teams, from evaluating personal behaviours to develop an effective and empathetic leadership style, to boosting team productivity and creating a positive culture that influences and is influenced by leadership style.
In this theme, delegates hear from Damion Burrows from DMBA Architecture, Carlo Magni from EPR Architects, and Tara Gbolade from Gbolade Design Studio.
Leading business
Our final on-demand theme explores the leadership of architectural practices, and how to balance priorities to differentiate, grow and succeed.
Delegates will hear from Olaide Oboh from Socius, Suzi Winstanley of Turner Works, and Rebecca Ball from HLM Architects.
Closing workshop afternoon and speed mentoring
Our course closes on Tuesday 18 June with an afternoon of interactive workshops, discussions and a chance to interact with the speakers who have led the on-demand modules along with delegate networking opportunities.
Embedding the learning from our three themes, this final event will allow delegates to reflect and expand their thinking about the conference themes. Leadership coach Debra will lead interactive workshops to encourage group collaboration and discussion and will close with final thoughts from some of our speakers.
Finally, to close the day, we invite all delegates to enjoy our drinks reception and speed mentoring session. Sign up on the day for a chance to have a one-to-one conversation with leading architects, directors, and industry professionals. Mentors will share insights from their lived experiences to offer personal support and advice.
