RIBA Hampshire's January lecture coming up on the 31 January, titled regenerative design and its application, will be hosted by Judith Sykes of Useful Projects.
Judith talks about regenerative design as a concept and way of responding to the climate and biodiversity emergency, and how it is applied within urban renewal projects, particularly focussing on places that have a strong heritage.
About the speaker
A Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and with a Masters in Sustainability, Judith has over 20 years of experience in urban development and infrastructure delivery on projects worldwide.
Recognised for her insightful and collaborative approach, and ability to see opportunities across disciplines, Judith works on urban development strategies and infrastructure masterplanning for government organisations, major developers, and asset owners. Her expertise is in city and urban resilience, sustainable development strategy, and infrastructure planning.
Judith is a member of the NIC Design Group and a Technical Advisor to the Board of Homes England. Her practice is working with Jigsaw on the Central Winchester Regeneration Project.
