About Kvadrat

Kvadrat want to ensure their products are designed in accordance with the United Nations Sustainability Development Goal 12, Responsible Consumption and Production. It is estimated that design defines over 80% of all environmental impacts of a product, hence, they are committed to making conscious decisions from the early design development phase, to the selection of materials, until the final stage of packaging products.

The Kvadrat mantra of 'reduction, reuse, and recycling' underpins all their existing processes and new developments. For example their largest wool producer, Wooltex, increased water recycling rate to 99% in 2023 from 77% in 2022. Innvik, their wool production partner in Norway, now only uses renewable energy from water and biomass and has finalised its new dyehouse, which has reduced water usage by 20% so far – with the ultimate goal of a 50% reduction.
