RIBA North East Sustainability Mastermind: MVHR design for low carbon homes

Join RIBA North East for the next event in the Sustainability Mastermind series looking at MVHR design for low carbon homes.

Join RIBA North East for the next session in the Sustainability Mastermind series. This time we will delve into Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR).

Why MVHR?

The best MVHR system is one you don’t know is there. Concerns over air quality and thermal comfort are making MVHR an increasingly common feature in new homes. Good design matters, and a well-designed system will be quiet, efficient, and easy to maintain. In this session, we will hear from our expert speaker on what makes a good MVHR system, from design to installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

Our expert speaker is Tom Hetherington Heywood from 21 Degrees.

Tom is the MVHR Department Manager at 21 Degrees (formerly known as Green Building Store). With a background in architectural technology, Tom has years of experience designing MVHR systems for Passivhaus and low energy buildings across the UK.

In addition to discussing the technical aspects, Tom will also delve into the environmental benefits of MVHR systems, highlighting how they contribute to reducing carbon footprints and enhancing indoor air quality. Attendees will gain insights into the latest advancements in MVHR technology and practical tips for ensuring optimal performance and longevity of these systems.

This online session is ideal for architects, builders, and homeowners interested in sustainable building practices. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what it takes to design and maintain MVHR systems.
