RIBA North East are thrilled to announce their Sustainability Mastermind Air Tightness workshop.
Improved standards of airtightness are a prerequisite of low energy, low carbon buildings. However, achieving improved standards of airtightness can be fraught with challenges. How do you develop a suitable strategy for your project? What standard of airtightness is appropriate, and why? What types of tapes, membranes, grommets, plugs, boards should be used?
Arguably there’s no better way to develop your knowledge and your skills than by getting some hands on experience of the different products available and how they work.
Join us for this immersive half-day hands-on air tightness workshop. We will begin by recapping on the importance of air tightness in construction, and then look at the various products available on the market. Then, using this knowledge, attendees will have an opportunity to practice sealing up junctions and penetrations, critical areas that if not properly managed can result in air leaks.
We’ll even get Apex Acoustics to test some of your handiwork! This session will be useful for architects, architectural technologists and architecture students, and is open to other construction professionals.
We look forward to seeing you and working together to ensure the future of construction is both energy efficient and sustainable. Don't miss this chance to expand your expertise.
