The RIBA North West practice and education group have organised this forum to support practices in offering work experience to and engaging with local schools and colleges.
There will be a presentation from the RIBA Learning team about their Architecture Ambassador Programme, including resources and advice for practices.
Following this, participants can enjoy an interactive panel discussion with architects from practices across the north west who are involved in school outreach and engaging with young people. This could be through offering work experience, delivering workshops in schools, or engaging with third-party organisations who specialise in school engagement. The panel will share best practice and what they've learnt during their journey.
The aim of this event is to help architecture practices in the north west support young people in exploring and learning about the built environment, while incorporating this engagement work into their social value offer.
About the panel
The panel will consist of:
- Victoria Adegoke, Architect at TADW Architects
- Craig Hilton, Senior Associate at AHR
- Aimie Griffiths, Associate at Gilling Dodd
The panel will be chaired by Stephen McCusker, Director at LOOP Systems and Professional Skills Lead at Manchester School of Architecture.
