Join us for a workshop to develop your skills in architectural photography and explore how it can be used to both represent the built environment and communicate our impression and experience of it.
You will be introduced to the role of focal length and aperture in focusing on structural details or a building overall and experiment with the technical aspects of photographic perspective and its creative potential.
We will discuss and draw inspiration from how a diverse range of photographers have worked in series to approach the built environment before you create your own photographic story of RIBA’s building at 66 Portland Place in London.
Please bring your phone or digital camera. A digital SLR is recommended, but not essential.
This creative architecture workshop is led by educator Marianne Holm Hansen, for young people aged 15 to 18 years.
Marianne Holm Hansen is an artist working across media, including photography, drawing and text-based works. She works internationally, including as a fine art and photography lecturer, and on creative programmes within a range of institutions such as RIBA, Tate, and the British Library.
