RIBA South Conservation group welcomes you to join the April online talk with guest speaker Deniz Beck, Senior Conservation Architect, founder of Sustainable Conservation Trust, and Icomos - UK Development Committee Interim Chair.
Event Format: The 40 to 45 minute presentation by the guest speaker is followed by a brief opportunity for the audience to ask questions via chat or voice.
Deniz will explore how collaborating with artists and digital creators can transform endangered heritage sites into platforms for storytelling and engagement. Drawing on projects such as Spatial Fragments, Alleyways of Gosport, Sea is My Religion, and Fort Brockhurst, Deniz will showcase how art, printmaking, immersive installations, and digital scans can capture lost details and create meaningful public interactions with historic places.
The discussion will highlight how these methods can bridge the gap between past and present, ensuring cultural heritage remains relevant and appreciated by future generations.
