RIBA Sussex presents a tour and networking evening at Pallant House Gallery, Chichester, 16 Nov, 6pm - 8pm.
Join us for a guided tour of the gallery buildings and enjoy the new exhibition, Sussex Landscapes: Chalk, Wood and Water featuring work from Turner to Ravilious to contemporary artists, plus time for wine and networking in this unique space.
The original Pallant House is a Grade I listed Queen Anne townhouse. Renovated in 1979, it has been used as a gallery since the 1980s, described by the Guardian as “second only to the Tate for modern art”.
In 2006, the RIBA Award-winning contemporary wing was added to Pallant House, featuring light and open gallery spaces designed by Long & Kentish in association with Colin St John Wilson.
Sustainability was at the heart of design for the new wing: it was the first British gallery to use geothermal heating and cooling, roughly halving its carbon emissions.
