The brief
In a quickly and ever evolving world, the focus on people should be the focus of architecture and masterplanning. This competition invites the future designers of our built environment to propose innovative small-scale interventions that can create significant positive impact on Cardiff and its inhabitants.
The proposal should align with the core values of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act, with a focus on social equity, sustainability, and long-term resilience.
The challenge
Participants are tasked with identifying and design small, yet impactful changes in Cardiff’s public spaces, infrastructure, or community facilities. These interventions should address current urban challenges while enhancing social value, promoting well-being and contributing to a sustainable future.
This design competition is open to all within the RSAW Large Practice Network and submissions will be present in the RSAW Design Week between 7 and 11 October.
Further details will be provided in due course.
Goal
The aim of this competition is to produce ideas of what can be possible in Cardiff.
In displaying them publicly, and inviting the head our local governing body and the general public to vote, which can inspire Cardiff to such possibilities.
Join us in shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant Cardiff - one small shift at a time.
