The Sheffield Society of Architects (SSA) is delighted to host an inspiring networking event for architecture students and professionals. This exciting gathering will take place at HLM’s stunning new ground-floor welcome space, located in the vibrant heart of Sheffield city.
What to expect
Designed as a platform for open dialogue, this event brings together individuals passionate about architecture to explore key topics that shape the future of the profession. Come and engage in meaningful discussions about:
- the future of architectural practice and education
- what skills and qualities employers expect from students entering the workforce
- what students demand from their future workplaces
SSA warmly invites students from Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Sheffield, and other architecture schools beyond Sheffield to take part as all voices and perspectives are essential to these discussions. We also encourage academics and practicing architects to attend, as their expertise and mentorship are vital to making this event a success.
SSA is dedicated to supporting the next generation of architects; empowering them to transition seamlessly into the professional world. To enrich the conversations, we are reaching out to architects from various backgrounds, including different practice sizes, specialisms, building typologies, career paths, and lived experiences. This diversity ensures a holistic and inclusive dialogue.
Expect a relaxed and informal atmosphere designed to inspire honest and engaging conversations. Drinks and snacks will be provided to keep the energy flowing throughout the evening.

We are pleased to share that there are no limitations on access for attendees visiting in person, as the location is conveniently situated at street level, ensuring easy entry for everyone.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. Our event embraces diversity and encourages participation from individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives.
