The RIBA Wiltshire Branch invites you to a summer sketching day at the Grade I listed Bowood House & Gardens. Alongside an artist, there will be a guided walk in the garden and a day spent drawing from vistas.
Your ticket includes entrance to the grounds, guided garden tour, refreshments, lunch, and the attention, advice, and recommendations from an experienced artist.
This event is open to all, whether you are a beginner or an established sketcher.
The venue for our sketching day is one of the best stately homes in Wiltshire.
"Bowood is a Grade I listed Georgian country house with interiors by Robert Adam and a garden designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. It is adjacent to the village of Derry Hill, halfway between Calne and Chippenham in Wiltshire, England. The greater part of the house was demolished in 1956. Bowood House sits within 100 acres of beautifully landscaped ‘Capability’ Brown Parkland and has been home to the Lansdowne family since 1754."
Visit the Bowood House & Gardens website for more information about the site and its history.
