How can architecture be more sustainable, use fewer resources, and be built to last? In this two day workshop we will be inspired by the RIBA’s Long Life, Low Energy research and collections and find out more about the future of architecture; investigating demolished and repurposed buildings and exploring innovative new building materials to create our own contemporary building designs.
During the workshop, we will visit The Building Centre and their exhibition Homegrown to explore more material innovation and ideas for a positive architectural future.
Throughout the two days, we will produce architecture style sheets for your portfolio, presenting your ideas from what we have learned on our visits and research, incorporating your own building designs and creativity, and create 3D models of our building designs whilst learning new modelling techniques with unusual materials.
This creative architecture workshop is led by artist and educator Katie Kennedy for young people aged 15 to 18 years.
