Brick and Ibstock have been at the forefront of UK construction for nearly 200 years. The iconic material makes up such an important part of our landscape across the Midlands from its production to the construction it allowed.
As we face increasing challenges around sustainability goals in the built environment and issues such as embodied carbon, it is a great time to look at the value in refurbishment and conservation of our brick heritage as well as explore how it can play a key part in our future landscape through innovation and new thinking around sustainability solutions.
Featuring regional projects from the RIBA Awards 2023 shortlists, such as the Dryden Enterprise Centre in Nottingham and the School of Architecture and the Built Environment in Wolverhampton, join RIBA East Midlands, RIBA West Midlands, and Ibstock for this joint event, exploring the landscape of brick in the UK.
To round off the event, you can partake in a *gin-tasting session with The Distillery, exploring their unique range of gin’s distilled in their beautiful brick home.
*Attendees must be 18 or over to participate in the gin tasting session and please enjoy responsibly.
