Join the Sheffield Society of Architects for a live presentation of Reach Homes - An ethical not for profit organisation for affordable, zero-carbon homes in the form of converted shipping containers.
This is a free event, and we welcome everyone – architects, other built environment professionals, students, families and friends.
Reach Homes CIC, is an ethical not for profit organisation founded by Jon Johnson, a former police officer. It aims to change the housing market by offering affordable, zero-carbon homes in the form of converted shipping containers.
Jon Johnson will be presenting the business model for the social enterprise which includes a production factory, and he'll introduce proposals for the regeneration of a large industrial site that has been of international interest historically, in the East End of Sheffield, which is tied in to the wider plan for regenerating the whole of the Attercliffe corridor between Meadowhall and the City Centre. This is to include 16 hydrogen- fuelled offsite homes, 42 Passivhaus standard shopping container conversions and the renovation of some beautiful buildings.
Reach Homes was Awarded Social Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber Social Entrepreneur of the Year, and runner up in the start-up category, Sheffield Business Awards – Innovation award and Shortlist for Outstanding Business of the Year 2017.
